SERVICE
Got a flat? A broken chain? Your brakes getting soft? We can help get you back on the road safely. And, if you bought a bike online, we can get it assembled for you so it's safe and covered by your warranty. Here are just a few of the things we can do for you.
Annual Tune-Up
Single Speed - $45
Our tune-up for single-speed bikes includes truing and straightening both wheels, performing axle bearing adjustments, front and back, and adjusting the brakes. We'll also lubricate the chain and all the springs and tighten all the bolts to spec. And finally, we'll give it a wash, so it feels like new. If you're a recreational rider, you should get an annual tune-up to keep your bike safe and in top shape. If you use it for daily commuting, you should think about tuning it up twice a year.
Annual Tune-Up
Multi-Speed - $80
Tune-ups for multi-speed bikes include everything we cover in a single-speed tune-up (wheel truing, brake adjustments, axle bearing adjustments, lubrication, bolt tightening). Then we also adjust the derailer, front and back, and make sure it's in good shape. And, of course, we'll also give it a wash so it's clean and shiny. Just like with single-speed bikes, we recommend that recreational riders get a tune-up once each year, but if you ride your bike every day for commuting, it's a good idea to do it every six months.
Advanced Tune-Up
$100 - $150
Advanced tune-ups add a few things to our regular tune-ups. We overhaul the hub bearings; we overhaul the bottom bracket bearings; and we overhaul the headset.
Flat Repair
$10 - $50 labor, plus tube
Everybody gets flats, and fixing them is no fun. With some bikes -- ebikes for example -- it can be a lot of work. For flat repairs, we charge for our labor, and we charge you for the replacement tube (or you can bring us a tube). In all cases, we'll let you know the price up front, for both the tube you need and for our work in getting your tire fixed and you back on the road.
Flat Repair - Kid's Bikes
Free labor, plus tube
We're dedicated to getting every kid out riding. We do this by selling bikes for kids, through our bike donation program, and by helping kids use the bikes they've got. Part of that is free tire repairs for kids bikes -- you just pay for the tube.
Bike Assembly
$45 - $125
Remember, if you buy your bike from us, we'll assemble it for free. But if you've already ordered your bike online, we can get it assembled and checked out for you. The price depends on the bike -- single-speed bikes take less work to assembe than multi-speed bikes, and trikes take even more work. But we'll quote you a price based on the bike you've got. (And next time, get free shipping and free assembly by ordering your bike through us!)
Wheel Truing
$15 - $25
Sometimes a wheel will no longer spin straight. It may wobble from side to side or bump up and down. This means it's 'out of true' and needs adjustment. A wheel can get out of true for multiple reasons. Hitting a pothole or a curb can do it. Loose or missing spokes can cause the wheel to warp. Lots of use can cause it, too -- older wheels may get out of true. We'll get it back in shape.
Wheel Building
$65 (you supply the parts)
Some people want custom wheels. They want to pick all the parts -- the spokes, the hub, the rim -- and put together their very own, one-of-a-kind special wheel. Buying the pieces is one thing, but getting them assembled into a safe, well-built wheel is something else entirely. Not every bike shop has the skill to do that. We do.
